Benedictine is seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapist!

Who We Are:

Located in Ridgely, Maryland, Benedictine has been helping individuals with disabilities for more than 50 years with educational, residential, vocational and day services for children and adults ages 5 and older. School programs include: functional academics; speech therapy; psychological, psychiatric, social work, counseling and case management; assistive technology; physical and occupational therapy; vocational and transitional services; and intensive collaborative programs designed for students within the Autism Spectrum.


The Occupational Therapist provides support to students who have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling. The OT helps students to develop, recover, or maintain daily living skills, fine motor skills and pre-requisite academic skills.   

Primary duties and responsibilities: 

  • Assess and interpret student evaluations and test results. Consult with special education team to determine occupational therapy treatment plan.  Meet the student’s goals/needs and provide quality care.
  • Assist students to develop or regain physical/mental functioning or adjust to the student’s disabilities by implementing programs involving functional, pre-vocational/vocational activities and daily living, educational, recreational and social activities.
  • Evaluate results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating student’s progress recommending and implementing adjustments or modifications; document student’s care maintaining and interpreting data in accordance with state, local and federal regulations.
  • Cooperate with multi-disciplinary team (SLP/PT/other OTs/Special Education staff and support staff) to provide services in a safe and effective environment. 

Here are the requirements you must meet:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an AOTA accredited program required.
  • Must be licensed Occupational Therapist by the state of Maryland.
  • Must possess sound judgment coupled with strong diagnostic and assessment skills.
  • Pediatric experience with students with developmental disabilities highly preferred.
  • Must be effective in a highly collaborative environment.
