AN AOTA UPDATE FROM YOUR MARYLAND REPRESENTATIVE

Greetings  AOTA colleagues,

                                                   Call for Motions 2016

Have you ever had an idea that you thought could be relevant to the practice of occupational therapy and move the profession forward positively.... or that your idea could benefit AOTA and our clients?

Keep in mind... all motions going before the Representative Assembly (RA) must be within the scope of the Assembly's function and purpose, which is the establishment of professional standards and policies.

Motions should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Are relevant to contemporary practice of occupational therapy
  • Are of national importance and relevance
  • Relate to a broad range of AOTA members
  • Are appropriate for consideration by a national professional association
  • Move the profession forward in a meaningful way

I encourage you to consider submitting a motion or an idea for a motion. You can do this by;

·         Visiting AOTA's  website http://www.aota.org/AboutAOTA/Get-Involved/RA/Motions.aspx

·         Email motions@aota.org

·         Phone 1-800-ASK-AOTA and ask for the RA Staff liaison

·         Contact your Representative

The deadline for motions to be considered at the 2016 Spring meeting is January 14, 2016.

THANK YOU for being a member of AOTA and for your continued support of our profession.

Warm regards,

Barbara B. Demchick, ScD, OTR/L
